Tiffany and Andy's Quilt

This was made for a wedding shower gift for my daughter's good friend.

I decided to make another block to finish off the back.

Finland

This quilt will be heading to Finland. There will be a new baby girl born into
our family in a few months. I wanted a pattern for a little girl and remembered
seeing this block. I used all half square triangles except the four white corners
of each block. I had 2 charm packs of the Bonnie & Camille for Moda
- Vintage Modern Fabric, I thought it would be perfect for the flowers in this pattern.

I used some scraps with a white edging for the back with more of the
Bonnie & Camille for Moda - Vintage Modern Fabric Red Dot.
I had a red and white stripe material that I used for the binding.

I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Even the cat likes it!

Cali Rail

This pattern is the California Rail for a Jelly Roll but once
again I didn't use a jelly roll. I cut my own 2 1/2 inch strips.
I think I made about forty strips and had enough for this 50" X 70"
quilt. I will donate this to the crisis center.

You can't see the back very good in this picture.

This is a close-up of the back.

I had these 12 blocks left over so I made a lap quilt for the nursing home out of these.

Another Gma Mac Quilt

I can't show you what I have been working on this week because it
will be a present, so I thought I would show you another quilt my
Gma Mac made. She put the top together using clothes and a few
of the pieces were really worn thin. I took some of it apart and
added some older material that my mom had.

Mom also hand quilted this for me.

I put a solid yellow binding on this and love how it turned out.

Quilted Cosmetic Bags

I needed to make something to put in a raffle basket so I found
the tutorial from Crafty Gemini to make these cosmetic bags. They
were pretty easy to make and the tutorial is very good.

made them with grey tones so they will hopefully appeal to more people.

I used a fleur di lis design for the lining of both bags.

I think I am going to make some for myself now!

Windows

I have another charity quilt for our local crisis center.
I went a little modern with this one, I think it looks
like  a row of windows.

I did straight line quilting on this quilt.

I think it looks pretty good on my old metal lawn chair.

Abstract

This is my attempt at an abstract quilt, I think it turned out well
but I want to continue to try even more abstract quilts soon.

I had this orange material that looks very 60's to me
so I thought it had to go on the back. This quilt makes
me think of a Dreamsicle.

You can see I have two different colors on my binding.
I wanted white on the back and orange on the front.

I cut the orange material 1 inch and the white
material 2 inches and sewed them together. That gave me a
2 1/2 inch binding. It is very easy and looks nice too.

Gma Mac's Quilt

This quilt top was made by my Grandma Mac at least
30 years ago, my mom hand quilted it for me last year
and I finally got the binding put on.

Mom did a great job with the hand quilting. Thanks Mom!

I wanted a white binding on the front (I actually used Kona-snow)
but wanted a little color on the back. I went through my mom's
material and found a brown material with some different colors
running through it and it is probably 30 years old. I really like how
it turned out, just enough color and pattern to make it interesting.

This is where the quilt is now, I love the color it adds to my favorite chair.

Sewing Machine Cover

I finally made a sewing machine cover for my machine.
I have needed one for a while, although some people
think my machine gets used way to much to need a cover.

I used some scraps of greens that I had and cut 2 inch squares,
I sewed them together to make roughly 10" x 13" then
I  cut out a sewing machine shape on an 8" x 11" sheet of paper
and used this  for a pattern. This is my first machine applique,
I need more practice but I am happy with the way it turned out.

Cat's

My Mom got this kit to make a quilt for one of my step-sister's.
I put it together for her. It  is a Laurel Burch fabric.

It came with two panel's but you didn't get any  instruction's
to use the second panel. I just used it on the back with some
of the left over fabric.

Modified Broken Wheel

This quilt was inspired by the Labyrinth Quilt from Red Pepper Quilts.
I had some red plaid material in my stash and thought this would
be a great quilt to use the material in. My challenge to myself was to
use only material I had at home to make a new couch throw for myself.
I do love it!

I also love the the back and plan to use it when ever
I can while lounging on the sofa.

Close-up of the back and binding.

I think I like this quilt so much because it is all material I chose (originally)
just because I liked it not because it needed to match something.

Ahoy Pirates!

Another quilt for the crisis center, pirates for a little boy.
I just framed out the square of pirate material with some reds,
blues and black and white that I had in my stash.

For the back of the quilt, I used some black and white check and red polka dot.

Donation's

This quilt is for the crisis center that our local quilt guild donates to.
It is a panel that I just bordered out.

We also donate to the nursing homes in three county's,
I try to make a few lap quilt's for them too.

They are simple and easy to sew but they mean a lot to
the people who receive them.

Ornaments

Here are the ornaments I made for my oldest daughter and her family.
I saw these on someone's blog but I have been unable to
find it again if anyone has seen them before let me
know so I can give them  credit for the idea.

I made these stocking for my daughters family last Christmas.
I used some of the same material for the ornaments,
stockings and the tree skirt.

As you can tell, I did not use any Christmas material in
any of these projects. We like to decorate but are not big
fans of the traditional Christmas color scheme.

Stockings

I have been working on a few Christmas items the last few days.
A friend wanted to buy a few of my stockings so I made up these six.
I also made a tree skirt for my daughter but forgot to take a
picture so I will post that when I get a picture.

I have been making some ornaments too and will hopefully
have pictures to show you soon.
