Giraffe and Elephant

This was a panel piece that I bought a few years ago, 

I finally sat down and drew up a plan to make it into a

Shriner's hospital quilt. They need to be 60 x 90 to fit on the 

hospital beds.

The giraffe and elephant were in the middle with the leaves on 

the sides and the orange and yellow flowers on the 

top and bottom. The little elephants, owl and whale were

 in the corners. I cut them all apart added strips of yellow 

green and brown to all sides then I used some of the dot fabric 

that I used for the backing to fill in the empty areas. 

Kona ash pulls it all together.

This is the backing.

 I do like how this simple panel turned into this great quilt!
